October's very own is killing it and this week is no different. With his third installment to drop in October on the 24th. Drake has released 2 tracks in less than 24 hours and the Toronto native is killing, although his recipe has stayed the same since So Far Gone, but people are still chopping at the bit to hear drake dish out out so good music for the people. Club Paradise is named after a famous strip club in Toronto. Free Spirit is another track released on Saturday, I figure Drake was in the mood to let the fans in on some new shit.

Das Racist! What is you ask. They are not, but they do make dope music. That make alternative hip-hop

very unconventional when it comes to much, with jokes and puns. Its definitely something that the evloutiobn of hip-hop needs. Make music fun again, make fun and not always talking about drugs, money, guns, cars and material things. Gained their fame from the internet like many acts Das Racist seems on the verge to making it big. Hailing form Brooklyn it seems that the east coast rap is slowly but surely making it way back to the city it was born in. With only 2 mixtapes and an album to drop later this year. Das Racist has a unique style that can not be duplicated. Their music seems to be so far out there sometimes you wonder what the hell they smoke to come up with the things they do.

Shut Up, Dude is the name of the first mix-tape they released and the feedback was great. A couple funny guys with something to prove and dont really take things serious. 6 months later Sit Down, Man was their second mix-tape. So relatively new but are well know in the part scene and the underground. Although everyone wants to be mainstream, but not these guys. These guys could care less about what critics say and what media has to say either.

Keep an eye out for these guys, Relax is going to be their first studio album that releases this year.

Everything is Purple!!! That the very first thing i heard when Asap Rocky dropped purple swag, the funny part is the track is actually catchy. I'm so used to music sounding like its from one the southern states I stopped listening to a very large majority of the music that has been coming out. I heard "Harlem is what I reppin" and i thought we might have another Waka Flaka on our hands but that seems to be more further from the truth that anything.

Asap Rocky is something new something fresh, For a long time I was listening to the track everyday because of is catchy tunes and dope visuals. The white girl with the grills threw me off, not that it cant happen but its rare to see in 2011 at least for me.

Swag! Swag! true to the game Asap seems to be a young dude that chills with the homies and lives life to the fullest while still keeping a level head. He talking about the streets and it been a while since we have heard that New York swagger come back.

Yes hes another underground catch that made in off the inter-webs but its the way music has gone. The music video is the hustle. 25years ago it used to be selling that outside your trunk, not you drop that tweet and send mad people your link and if your dope your in.

Like many artist coming out these days, there careers are short lived because they're young and either done have the longevity of say a Jay-z or the backing like Mac Miller, but Asap Rocky is one of the many new it guys and it doesn't seem like his music is going to stop getting better, but time will tell for the Harlem cat.

He has been rapping serious since he left high school and produced "Peso" when he was just 17. So this is not a game for him this is life and he living to the fullest.

Just when you thought Odd Future only talked about rapping, killing and telling Steve Harvey to Fuck off. There has be an unsung hero in the group that only the true followers would know of. Frank Ocean is vocalist that recently signed to Def Jam and also part of the new cult craze Odd Future with Tyler The Creator.

Ocean has written songs for Justin Bieber, John Legend, Brandy and many more, he has also worked with like so Nas, Beyonce and Pharell. For such a short career he has made an impact and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The First time I heard of Frank Ocean I was shocked it was track "Strawberry String" that was sampled from cold play that got e hooked. I don't know if it was the familiarity that caught my hear but truthfully the guy can sing there is not question about that. I did not know he was the singer that happened to be on the very first track of Watch the Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West, but even that is a huge feat in the career of Frank Ocean, to be paired with two of the top artists in the game speaks volumes for his career and how much he is respected.

Ocean is re-releasing is mix-tape and turning it into an official album, similar to what Drake did a few years back and the feedback from that was nuts. the only issues he may run into are the rights to some samples he may never get, which may turn out to hurt the potential album says. Overall Ocean is a young artist that with the right projects and the right determination with be a a great artist.

Time will tell where his careers goes, but it starts with the first album and how well it does and how fan draw to his music, but so far so good and for Mr. Ocean is seem the water will never run dry.

The time has come to Debate between two hip-hop/rap juggernauts. Nasty Nas versus Slim Shady, yes the witty lyrist against the often out spoken rapper from 8 mile. The debate continues with artist of the decades.

When you think of the 90 and hip-hop how could you not think of Nas, Illmatic, beefs with Jay-Z and d even the firm. It’s almost connecting the 90's with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls era. Nas gave us certified classic from the jump to claim hip-hop had died, to even wanting to call his album the NIGGER album. He has cultivated a culture with his beats, rhymes and his political and social views.

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones began writing rhymes at the age of nine, dropped out of school in the eighth grade. This would have made him 13 o r 14 at the time. He later educated himself about African culture through The Five Per Cent Nation, the Bible and the Qur'an. In '94 he dropped the critically acclaimed album Illmatic and set the world on fire. With no famous guess appearances received Five Mics from The Source. This at the time was probably the best thing that any up and coming rapper could ever ask for. Regarded as one of the best hip-hop records ever made. Illmatic had brought out the best of the best producers at the time were the likes of Large Professor, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, L.E.S. and DJ Premier, but Nas was just about Illmatic he was about the music, he was about spreading knowledge even as a grade 8 drop out. Nas always had a way with the words: "You couldn't catch me in the streets without a ton of reefer/That's like Malcolm X, catchin' the Jungle Fever" and "I'm as ill as a convict who kills for phone time."

Not as chart topping when it came to record sales, but still just as effective. You can only think of if Jay-Z was Michael Jordan, Nas had to Magic when he played center for the Lakers in his rookie year. That would be Illmatic. Having cancer and coming back would be Stillmatic and the slow but never forgotten drift to retirement. (That was for the basketball heads) Eminem of course would have to be Larry Bird for obvious reasons.

With follow up albums “It was Written”, “I Am”, “Nastradamus”, and “Stillmatic” all receiving Platinum certification. Nas has always been praised for his ability to create a wonderful match of lyrics and productions, even being compared to Rakim for his lyrical technique. A legend in his own right. Nas will forever live in the playlists if the music heads and the collectors. Not to be constricted by mere black male stereotypes Nas is and will always have "the blood of a slave, heart of a King"

Eminem, Slim Shady, Marshall Mathers, whatever you want to call him there is no denying that we rocks the mic on every track and the fact that he is white has seem to break down walls and open doors for people like. Mac Miller, YelaWolf, Asher Roth and many more. Eminem is the track topping, platinum selling recording artist that has proven that it’s what you bring to the table and not about the color of skin. The Detroit renegade has been putting in work since his days of Infinite.

Eminem became interested in hip hop as a teenager and performed amateur raps at the tender age of 14 under the alias "M&M". Eminem frequently participated in freestyle battles, despite dealing with being a white American male in a predominantly African-American industry; he gained the approval of underground hip hop audiences. He dropped out of high school at age 17.

His rapping technique was very diverse and complex and contained many different Eminem's ability to always connect with his audience through humorous subject matter, and carrying a concept over a series of albums for example his alter ego Slim Shady.

Also know for his complex rhyme schemes and his ability to bend words so that they rhyme. Many may try, but many have failed it has become this very thing that separates Eminem from many of his peers. Who rhymes the word "orange"? He is also known to write the majority of his lyrics down on paper. Just peep this lyrist:

Like he said the proof is in the pudding and Em proves that he puts in work like no other. I can’t say enough about each album from his recent works of art to his unreleased EP's. Slim Shady the alter-ego kills the mic to, but does it in a way where people will laugh while Marshall the more serious side. When you think of Eminem you can’t help but think of the hilarious music video that he drops to then come out with a more serious video like Stan. The video Stan or even cleaning out my closet demonstrates how diverse of an artist he really is and how he doesn’t need to stick to one style of music.

He had his far share of beefs and struggle but I think it has made him into a better man and artist and since the recent death of his childhood friend Proof, Eminem has come back without his bleach blonde hair and has revived his career. Think of Eminem as that legend that will always remembered and talked about not because of his color but because of what he brought to the table.

I could go on for days with the careers and what makes Nas better than Eminem or vice versa, but lets hear it folks who do you think takes the title? Who rocks the Mic better. There are no ties and its not just black and white. If you had to choose one. who would it be? The alter-ego driver Detroit rapper or the Queen native that dropped his album and was given 5 mics at a time where 5 mics was unheard of.

The Collection

I love collection especially random collections. I believe I am collector of the rarest form, one that collects, but not one that collects from a-z or not in any particular order. My magazine collection varies from vibe, the Source, XXL, Wax Poetics and even Complex. I had a conversation with my cousin and him telling me that I am not a collector, just one that sees and grabs. I think differently hence the post. 2011 is the year of collecting for me and as I right this post I am about to red some Complex spread and Respect spreads.

I think a good collection consists of good quality and your our twist on things. Yes, its easy to go through 1-10 but wheres the fun in that. Why not collection albums? why just not include mixtapes. Collections are fun and to look back at things only brings great memories and old times. When you think about it we all collect in some kind of way, just some of us are a little better or strict about it. Thats was my little rant about the collection and all that jazz.

Favorite Album of 2010

How could you go wrong with this album. I dont think you can. Yes, it easy to jump on the bandwagon of XXL and The Source, but when I have been a fan of Kanye's since College Dropout to 808 & Heartbreaks it only makes scence. This albums seemed to be a coming of age for Kanye, his hiatus had been the 1st break since his mother passing. Ye' pours his heart out in every song. From "Blame Game" to "Hell of A Life" Kanye's album shows that moving to Hawaii and putting yourself in isolation is a great way to make the album of the year. The G.O.O.D Friday music drops also served a teaser to the eventual classic. Although the album was leaked early. The masses still went out to buy the album and support Kanye trophy album. Many classic lines: "When you chase the pussy it's a sin/But if it fall in your lap, it's a blessing." , "And I know it’s superficial and you say it’s just clothes/But we shopping in that motherfucker and it just closed.". Well calculated moves are what made this album so dope. How could you not drop an album at the end of the year and have it not be considered dope especially since Kanye has been known to be in the spotlight like with Taylor Swift, running on stage acting a fool and oh course the "George Bush, doesn't like black people" statement.

Brotherly Love?

Philadelphia happens to be my favorite football team and this topic has been on my mind for sometime now. Philly really loves it brothers, from McNabb to Allen Iverson to Michael Vick. We all know A.I used to rule the hardwood back in the 90's until he decided he was bigger than then the team and never wanted to show up for PRACTICE!
As for football in the 1999 NFL draft Philly was booood for their 1st round pick of Donavan McNabb, which in the end turned out to be probably the best decision they could have made. This year the love continued by trading their 1st love for their second love and much younger running threat. Yes, the dog fighter its an unfortunate title and I wish it didn't follow him around but he did the crime.
My really reason for this post is to ask: why does Philly always take a chance on the risky brothers, but are ready to ship them out when they not longer can produce. Maybe its sports, but I think for a much as Philly loves you, they can hate you just as fast. It could just be me but let me know what you think. Just on of those opinion posts.

Sorry for the lack of post folks sometimes in like too much of anything is bad for you. I have been working the 9-5 very aggressively and been just living life in so many words. I have been on the internet a lot crafting ways of promoting the Daily Antics brand and overall networking.

I just wanted to show you a few perchases I have picked up along the way...Well I mean while I was networking and writing posts for the my website, having interviews and talking to people about t-shirts. Yes, the t-shirts are still in the works and I know I have been talking about them for some time, but good things happen to those who wait.

The first image is my new Only_NY hoodie that I felt was a necessary buy because the way it brings me back to my to the good old graffiti days. When having a marker, and a few stickers in your backpack were very necessary items to add to the arsenal.

Fuck/Luck is t-shirt made by the folks at IdeallClothing. I didn't know the meaning behind it initially and later realized, that its not luck that we have its hard work and determination. Luck is one of those things that people clutch on to as a safe belt. I haven't worn it yet for the simple fact that its a white t-shirt and I'm waiting for the right day to rock a solid piece of design like this.

Last but not least this must be probably the illest shirt I have ever seen bought from the folks at Rocksmith. If you listen to a lot of music which I happen to you will have noticed the image at the bottom portrait baby Christopher Wallace, the same baby from Ready To Die as the little white baby that grudge group Nirvana (album cover) once had. Its a clever way of putting two dope album together in one image.

Its not much but bare with me people I will be back with some of those great images you all know and love I just had to get away for a while and open my eyes to the world like friends, family and those you have yet to me. Stay safe and to those in America happy thanksgiving to all.

It's crazy how things change when it comes to music, style, culture and overall life. I wanted to touch on fashion more in particular street wear, since I am on the outside looking in. I can appreciate brands like 10 deep, Supreme, Freshjive and Mighty Healthy for paving the way.

Its seems though the tide has changed and brand like Award Tour, The Hundreds, Adapt, Ideall and many more brands are pushing the envelope. With time everything changes and the same go for street wear. Before it was about the underground scene. It was about punk rock, skateboarding like the boys in dog town, most recently it has been about hip-hop music, lyrics the change in climate the world as melting pot of disasters and world destruction. I feel like I’m venting in a way or at maybe I’m just getting something off my chest.

I look at graffiti and its writers as my inspiration. The love of type and letters forms has pushed me more and more to want to share my love of it with the friends, family and the random people of the world that can appreciate and share the same values I keep close to the vest. The Daily Antics has been something I have been working on for years almost like a life project, something that I think about nearly every day. It’s been a something I have wanted for years and only now I have come to realize how much goes into something that you love, but it isn’t called work when it something you love to do, when it’s the passion that drives you or the sheer love of it that keep you wanting more.

I don’t know what the purpose of this post was other than ranting and raving about my love and my dreams. The message I want to leave for the people that are reading this is loved what you do and once it stops being fun, stop doing it and move on to the something else. Live your life. Drake once said "I got to feel alive, even if it kills me". So take that and run with it because we’re all here for a very short time and all we can do is live to the limit and love it a lot. Shyne

Man, I not sure how long it been, but it been way to long since you heard someone like Shyne drop a record. Many have come and many have failed. It’s unfortunate we remember Shyne for all the bad things that happened in his life. Many like I still hold on to the album that made him famous. With songs like ''The Life'', ''Commission'', and ''That’s Gangsta'' are just a few of the songs that helped Shyne solidify his spot in rap music.

Shyne was born in Belize and was never one to shy away from his Caribbean roots by hooking up with Barrington Levy on a few tracks. Bad Boyz at the time was the street anthem at the time. You couldn’t hit the streets without hear that song being blasted in someone speakers. Seems to be nothing but a memory now and the only thing that brings you back to that time is the album. Music is a beautiful thing.

This is what Shyne looks like now, a citizen of Belize. He has found his spot as one of the locals just after 10 years incarceration. A from the XXL's article seems the rehabilitation of 10 years in jail has really worked for Shnye. Buried Alive wasn’t my favourite album, but then again his mind was confined in a cell block. I look forward to the new Shyne. It’s unfortunate he still talking about hard times and being in the struggle, but he made his bed. That being said we still cannot deny the fact Shyne is album is a masterpiece in itself. Check out the new Shyne as we were featured on the cover of Septembers XXL.

It’s always good to look back at the good times and the good music. Shyne is back and he will triumph once again in my mind. Will he do it like he once did? That now is up for debate. Song like Bonnie & Shyne are what we live to remember about Shyne and etched in our minds forever. This is the Shyne I am talking about when I write this piece although time will tell whether or not we feel the same way about him as we once did...

This is the kind of work I have been put in over at the daily antics. Music, music and more music that thats what we are talking about over there and we have since revamped the way we are doing things over there. I coming back around with the clothing line and I promise I will be back from my long over leave of absence.

Oh me, oh my, there is one word that comes to mind when you think of Currensy...Jets!!! The Jet life is what Currensy has been talking about even before Pilot talk. It’s hard to initially get use to Currensy's sound. He has an unorthodox flow to say the least, but if you sit down and listen to the words that are coming out of his mouth. (Apologizes I had just Finished watching Rush Hour) But For me it started with tracks like ''Where the Cash At'' back in '06 when he was the 1st artist of Young Money before the likes of Nicki Minaj and Drake. Currensy the Hot Spitta is holdin' it down.

Lil Wayne ft. Currensy and Remy Ma - Where The Cash At by Daily Anitcs

Currensy lays it down like no other. When you listen to the lyrics you feel like you know what the next line might be, but no you have no idea. Hiphop music has changed from the days of the 90's but it only natural. The progression of music will never stop and Currensy stands at the top of the class. Many would disagree and say Drake or Kanye are killing it, but being co-signed by your celebrity friends does help. I'm not saying that some work doesn't have to be put in, but for the most part that heavy weight back up does help.

Its sucks how many times Currensy has been pushed back or was given a bad hand. Currensy was ready to fly high with the jets since he was in his teens, but it was one thing after another. Originally he was signed to Master P's No Limit Records, he then signed with Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment. That was also short lived because in 2006 due to several push backs and lack of promotion, Curren$y decided to leave the label and venture off to do business on his own. That may have been the best idea he had made in his short career thus far. Who is going to look out for you better than yourself. He pushed forward and never looked back. Dropping numerous mixtape the name Currensy was becoming a household name.

Not your typical rapper, he sits in between Jay-Z and MF Doom. A weird combination to say the least, but that’s Spitta. Don’t look for anyone to follow his style anytime soon. Although, since his arrival is seems there has been a lot more weed smokers to say the least or at least there a lot more people willing to talk about it in my opinion. Case in point... Wiz Khalifa who in terms of comic books would be Batman and Currensy Green Lantern. This to have put out multiple projects together but most notable has been there ''How Fly'' mixtape. Straight bananas!!! Currensy is a hard act to follow, because of his care free spirit. Most artists these days want to portray a certain image when out in the public, bit with Currensy he just wants to have fun, play live shows and make good music. Spitta has finally dropped the Pilot Talk and looks to release Pilot Talk to. Dame Dash has given him a window and skys the limit....

I have never seen an artist make music videos for nearly every song on their album, before it dropped, the only person to kill the music video like this was Usher when he dropped confession, but the album was out then he came out with all those videos. Oh well, I cant hate all the videos are dope and the music is like opening Pandora's box game over...

Currensy has recently dropped some more musical magic for your ears...the hit single Micheal Knight. Yes, the same Knight that was one Night Rider....thats car went through so much and never had a scratch, if i had that car I would go to work. Currensy has dropping Pilot talk to, I know your probably saying already? but hey he finally debut his 1st album...I can only imagine how good he feeling musically since some of his hype came from mixtapes and features.

I felt it was only necessarily to give you followers a little something something. I have been putting hours of work to get The Daily Antics running a level of professionalism. I never knew it would take so much work , but all in due time. Still gotta keep the personal blog to say whatever I want. Keep it real form time to time.

Many may not know him by his government name Kevin Brereton, but at first glance you may draw your conclusions about K-os. He’s probably a Rasta or he’s a self absorbed individual that drinks Starbucks and doesn’t eat meat. Those are just an outside observation by friends, but were going to take a deeper look into the music. What many don’t know about K-os, he rocks the mic like nobody’s business. A musician that typically coasts under the radar with deep lyrics and a soulful sound. K-os has produced songs like '' Heaven Only Knows'', ''Sunday Morning’’, ''Man I Used to be'' and many more. Most recently know for the using the sample from the hit fox TV show The O.C. ''I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman''. Growing up K-os drew inspiration from the likes of Michael Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest, The Beatles, The Roots and even Stevie Wonder.

k-os bring you bad to the 90`s with soulful beats and intense lyrics, something that will keep you foot tapping and your nodding back and forth. The kind of music that b-boys can jam to and old ladies and rock to. His music appeals to many people, but because he doesn’t look like say a Common nor has the money of a Jay-Z he continues to be blasted in the speakers of basement jams and headphones/speakers.

K-os still finds to keep it real in a watered down industry and fixed on the finer things of life...the money, the cars, and the hoes. Real hip-hop seems to be behind clothes doors, in back aisle and live shows. It’s hard to think that an artist such as K-os is still able to create four albums with success and still keep a fan based of true hip-hop heads.

Say what he wants when he wants. The only person really doing anything close to that is Kanye West, but as well all know that back fired on him in recent years. When you listen to K-os or watch one of his video you can see that its coming from the heart, you can see he not a gimmick cause if that were the case he would have cut his hair like Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas. It’s funny early in his career k-os was discovered by NBA star at the time John Salley of the L.A Lakers who later became his manager.

The alias "k-os", spelled with a lower case "k", was intended to be less aggressive like other rappers whose names were all upper case, such as EPMD and KRS-One. It is an acronym for "Knowledge of Self''.

It just so happens these days when you think Canadian music you is drawn to the Drake and Justin Bieber. This in the big picture isn’t a bad thing for music up north. Simple Tools

I felt it was only nessecasy to bring back some good old conventional means of creavitiy. Yeah, that means the old fashion way. A pencil with a blank sheet of white paper. Take a look for yourself and dont be afraid to leave comments. I look forward to hearing from you all.

I felt I needed to go back to where it all started for me, before the blog, before the love of music became so over whelming and way before the social networks. The Skulls above was basically me thinking about life and enjoying life cause when its gone you can say you left with a smile. I am big fan of tattooing and the art work.

This came from watching a lot of gang movies at the time and clearly the loves had many people with tattoos on their hands. It takes a lot for me to get into the mood to draw. I don't know, but when I was younger I was able to pick up a pencil and just draw it seems like as I get older the ideas don't flow as well. When your young the ideas just flow it seems, but at the same time the content and deeper meaning behind each drawing, sketch, print and doodle is there.

Enjoy, this because there is more where that came from since I just bought a new sketchbook and I feel its only right to go back to where it all started from once again. Sketches, colour, and concepts.

Renvoi is the name of the new album and so far so good. I havent heard anything Erick has put that has been wack in any sense of the work. Just more enjoyable music for the people to listen to. Its the cloths money!!!! A closer look at some of the Canadain brands I know and love.From the well established to the up and coming. Have a look for yourself. (click every images to view their sites)

Pardon Le Dopeness has become a staple in my wardrobe for the simple fact. The proof is in the pudding. Its a dope brand and its reps the city in a way that clear and shows people where you from and what your about. Bold and in your face.

Ambush Apparel I found out about on another site via twitter. `The Frest Stock`. And I find Ambush to be the new thing is street wear that adds a sense a design into every graphic t-shirt. `The Element Of Surprise` is there motto and and I can definitely see them bringing the heat in the near future.

King Oak has kind of just popped up for me, but I'm still new to this street wear culture. I was all about graffiti prior to wanting to switch some things up, but King Oak is concepts are sick and really brings you closer to the city as a hole. I believe if they keep going every Torontonain will be rockin`a t-shirt to represent the roots of the city.

Classic and Park when I 1st heard about these guys via internet surfing I didn't know what to thing except, they pay strong attention to details. When you think about the little things the bigger picture is a lot easier to make clear. I can see they guys gettin into cut & sew field because of the details they use in their design.

Live Stock probably one of the more popular brands out there because of their Founder `Skam`. Like I was saying earlier I was into graffiti growing up and have some what switched fields and I found out about Live Stock viz graffiti and street art. It clear to the see that Live Stock has been one of those brand that started like many of the older brands out there with sneakers and it kind of branded from there for me. Vibrant colurs and nice graphics are what make this brand still kickin

Ransom Holding co. The 1st time I ever saw this sight I thought I was entering a movie scene. Ransom holds it down with the content, the imaginary and the conceptional design. The have some of the best ideas out right now and of all the brand on here Ive got to say Ransom is the biggest. Not to take anything away from anyone doing their thing, but Ransom along with Live stock have put Toronto on the map for street culture. With features on Hypebeast Ransom looks to be holding it down for some time. Keep a look out for what new with these guys.

Last but not least one of my favorite brands right now has got to be Ideall for the simple fact that they put design out that give a reaction and that sounds dumb, but just think if you can make something that some will have a good feel about your doing your job if they look at it and don`t have an ounce of reaction other than its cool your going to need t step it up. The ideas these guys come up with are right in your face and have you asking the question of why didn't I think of that. With reference from lyrics, cartoons, politics and even his childhood Ideall clothing is here to stay and their climb to the top is only gettin shorter.

SO there it is some of Canada`s well established and starter brands...be on the look out from all these brands and more posts from me about these brands, because like Drake once said ``Im hardly home, but always reppin`and I am always down to rep something I believe in```

J.Cole vs. Drake

Well it turn of the great debate this time is of two up and comers that have been compared to with the like of Jay-Z and Nas. I'm sure the debate has be floating around blogs and hangout posts all over the North America. Lets begin...

Ill start with Drake for the simple fact I heard about him 1st. Drake has come along way since "Replacement Girl" that also featured a young Trey Songz, but that just it Drake's career has become a career full of features. I'm not knocking the young mans talent, but can you really say Drake would have blown without the help of Young Money? I not sure, but he made it and he is doing it well. It started with a mix tape : "So Far Gone" that turned the world upside down and start the career of the one and only Drake "Drizzy".

I cant say much about J.Cole because I haven't heard much about him, but what I do know is his mixtape are crazy...Cole rips it on every single track I don't know if its a bad thing, but you can definitely hear his passion is every song, every verse, every word he spits. For me it started with his two mixtapes:

If you've heard the albums then you will know he real and everything he spit ill. I don't know but Ive got to say J.Cole rhymes with more of a meaning behind it like a message. Maybe because of where he from, but it seem like there is so much music out there these days whatever better way to go than to be yourself. Rap what you know about and if you love what your doing keep it going.

It seems like Drake has taken a fast track into rap...it seems like he riding his 15 minutes of fame. which can turn out bad in the end because these days some much music is made it only makes sense to stay in the lime-light and let the masses know that you are still relevant in the music industry. J.Cole has not had as much songs as Drake but has left a lasting impression for with people, where Drake has to keep making music because he doesn't let the fans sit down and take in music. Which begs for the question whose career will last longer? Who will come out on top? Which one of these 2 will be on the XXL crown the new king to the thrown? Its a tough question because their careers have only just started and they're being compared to legends of the industry.

The Longer their careers go on the larger the Debate. i don't think the Jay-Z/ Nas debate will ever die because of the fact that they were once friends and they both made great music at the same time not to mention the very talked about beef they had. When that debate come into play I think Nas won the battle Jay-Z won the war and in war you can have many battles, but it depends of who comes out on top from it all.. Two music video that depict the artist and how their careers have gone thus far. Best I ever has shows that Drakes music appeals to the female audience and since we have more females in the world it not a bad deal. J.Cole's "Who Dat" shows he gets grimey...considering the video below was only one take. He wanted it to feel natural and raw. I wanted to add more but its 5am and I'm tired...

I think personally Drake career wont last as long as J.Cole for the simple reason he has Jay-Z backing him up and he know how that goes. Anything he put his name on is sold like your gettin' it for half price. I don't know you tel me..what you think..

Well, I have got that itch and once I get that itch I run with it...I found a way to feature music on my blog so its only a matter of time better I blog about music and how it effects my art and thought process..I have been listening to a lot Jay-Z who happens to be my favorite rapper and as you know may know or not know Jay-Z is proclaim the Mike Jordan of Hiphop, anyway since I have the luxury of playing music Im going to play some of my favorites tracks and lets the it all ride out...

So, if you just listened to the past 2 tracks there history begin them is...I 1st heard "Hardknock Life" I was not older than 10 years old. It was the 1st time I actually began to lip sync the words while it was being played on the radio or the t.v..It was more of a Nas fan club when it came down to in it for my brother and sisters. Family feuds over whos the best MC.

The D'Evils hit me hard when I 1st heard it because it was when I 1st bought the Reasonable doubt album and I was starting my collection of Jay-Z albums. Not big on collecting but at the same time Hes my favorite rapper no questions asked. Anyway I sorry for the lack of verb-age on this post I worked last night and working on many different project just look at the blogs new face lift.

I love asking question in my blog titles, for the simple reason its like if you didn't know, well I'm here to tell you whats really good. "Pardon Le Dopeness" is the name and like the name its Toronto based clothing that I found out about via an old friend I use to go to school with. I had posted about some threads (clothes) I had purchased earlier, "Pardon The What?". I am back again to talk about the brand a little more in depth from my perspective anyway. In my eyes it's a good look because Toronto is well know and is becoming bigger because its urban subculture which involve music, clothing, design and lifestyle brands like "Ransom", "Livestock", and "Inquiring Minds". Its a good look none the leaa, but I just wanted to shed some light on whats going on the northern side of things. Yes, the US market is where to go to get famous cause that's what most of us (Canadians) have come to know as second nature. I was on facebook and came across these Dope no pun intended design Done by Matt. Yeah that's the his name, not one to really blowing up names but at the same time. Gotta let the people know whats going on.

The images above need no introduction unless you live under a rock or you don't watch any of Canadian sports. I wont lie we don't have the greatest sports teams, but that doesn't mean you cant rep. where you live. You cant sell out the city that raised you and made you who you are today. I'm looking to interview Matt someday soon, and probably everyone that is doing something more than just a 9-5. Its almost coming up on a month where I haven't posted anything, and I'm sure I have lost some followers, but at that same token. It only means I will have to regain those people following and earn the right to gain more followers in the process. I Have been interview, taking pictures, listening to music working out and all the things I use to do before I go all wrapped up in this computer game. I have some new designs and yes it seems like I same that all the time, but in reality I want this to be as perfect as possible. I have to measure twice cut once kind of deal. Jay-Z once said "9-5 is how you survive, I'm trying to live to the limit and love it a lot". "It" begin "The Daily Antics". I'm trying to assemble a team of people to join me on this venture, bu that seems to be easier than said. Anyway enough with all the business talk. Look out for the homie formerly known as "Sleezy T", no thats not his name its actually Teeyaur I'm not sure what that means, but well see. Ive got an interview with him and I have another interview with Bolton native Scatter Brain. So I might have been gone but it doesn't mean I have been working my ass off...Lets go!!! I have gone back to the drawing board and I think I have no choice but to keep myself there. It has become my escape from the world. Put in the headphones and go to work.

Regardless of your dreams, live them out. If you fail you can then look back and say at least you tried...I read a tweet thats said you have to treat your treat like breathing, you cant live without it...Anyway folks Ill be back with the more carnage for y'all to feast your eyes on...

Daily Antics: Addiction of The Week

Its not a new show and its been out for a few years, but it has been the recent addiction I have had since the beginning of the week. A forensic analysis of the Miami police force by day and a serial killer by night. He drawn between the living the life of a family man and a somewhat twisted batman that hunts the killers and "evil people". I am currently in the 3rd season.

The 1st season Dexter was finding out who he was as a person while trying to find out about his twisted past as a youth. In the 1st season Dexter's sergeant believe he is up to something and dont let him down. So through the season he continues to live a double life while someone from his past he never knew existed come to fold in a very large way.

In season 2 Dexter finds another love interest, but she not who he think she is. While still living the double life, his sergent draws closer to the truth so Dexter is forced to make a move. Back and forth from one woman to the next Dexter finds himself in a love triangle, but in the end chooses one. Season 2 was a lot more jam packed than the 1st season. The storyline I will say wasn't as in depth as the 1st, but all the same I am still addicted to show no the less. Im currently on season 3 and I find the plot is beginning to thicken. Its only for rest of the week folks more daily addictions to come...stay posted.

One of those music talent happens to be Gilbere Forte. I 1st heard about Forte on the well known Award Tour Blog. Dreaming of '87 is the name of the album and I havent gone as deep into the album as I would have like to, but I have listened to the album and 'Black Chukkas' has to be my favorite track. Back on my grind. I had to bring out the 50 image for the simple fact of " Power of a Dollar" and "Get Rich or Die Tryin'". It was a good year for rap. Like the entire meaning being 50cent was change and that he did. Change the game. I look to change the way people see things, and switch up colors were things can pop and intrigue the viewer. Look for more artists, not so much current artist but artist from the past that have effected the future.

I have come to realize Twitter has become the most powerful means of communication between people. across the world. I had recently connected with the some really cool people from code and creed. Based in LA Code and Creed focuses on the love of art like myself. Their motto is: “Live by what you love.” We believe in living, loving, and discovering your passion. The coolest thing is that they have a t-shirt to show people their design side of things.

As part of this first chapter: “The Fundamentals” have released a lookbook and three features on dancers who are up and coming in the west coast dance community.

Karen Chuang - Karen Chuang is a contemporary and hip-hop dancer with an impressive resume. She has danced as the principal dancer with Korean popstar Ava Lee Jung Hyun in Korea, danced on “America’s Got Talent” and “Glee” and performed with upcoming artist Kristinia Debarge. She has also been the assistant for some amazing choreographers on the Pulse Dance Tour including Shane Sparks, Mia Michael’s and Wade Robson, to name a few.

Gino Garcia - Gino Garcia is a hip-hop dancer who has danced with a wide variety of groups in the L.A. area. He has had the honor to dance with Team Boogiezone’s BREED, and UCLA’s very own, Samahang Modern. Also, he has danced with several projects in Southern California, including Movement Project, Typecast Toys, Twisted Elegance, Lolly, VASSY, as well as creating his own project still in the works!

Stephanie Phung – Stephanie Phung is a recent graduate of UCLA and coordinator for VSU Modern, UCLA’s newest competitive hip hop team. She is also an active dancer for the Dance and Spirit Club (DSC) and a four year veteran of Samahang Modern.

Im Back Only For A Moment

I feel like I'm back in a way, but in the same notion I never really left. Its just sometimes you do the same thing over and over again, you eventually need a break from the whole thing. I took a bit of a break but I wont call this the complete come back I have some more tricks up my sleeve I have to push aside for family issues. I still have a few more things to get out of the way and then Ill be back trust me. With so much time away Its given me new inspirations, time to thinks and scheme up brand spanking new ideas. I did this for 2 reasons Eminen is back and he is one of the few musicians I have not created an image for. I have always been a fan of Eminem and now with this Recovery album I can honestly say its like hes never left. I did this a little more loose and in these colors cause it popped. Stayed consistent with the hair, the skin its my own twist and the eyes are always a favorite to mix up the colors its almost like you're looking deeper int the person than just their outside appearance.

Its been a while since I have blog about anything. The main reason is for I am keeping off the inter-webs for one reason its taking away from me living. No, I'm not saying when I come on the computer I'm dying, but when I sit at my laptop for hours on end and people ask me what I did I said not much, because in reality I didn't do anything. Sorry for the group of readers and friends that read the blog. I cant say I'm actually back but I will do a better job of post whats going on. I have picked up the pencil again. So as the title states whats on? To most this may come as what on God green earth is he talking about now. Well, here it is. I was sitting down with my sister as I so oftenly do and we began to whats on TV and the answer we go was nothing worth watching. What happened to the great TV shows of old?
what happened to the music video shows that actually played good music? It seems that society has just become so boring, It used to be cool to watch other people on TV, but now Reality TV has scripted their shows like "The Hills", "Survivor" yes! Survivor is scripted just to get up on society. I miss shows like Fresh Prince, Family Matter, Spider Man, Power Rangers and Full House just to name a few. It almost seems like all the good talent has and we have seen all the great shows come and go. Prime-time TV is the only time TV is worth watching cause companies knows thats when ever one is home, but even those shows are not like the late great shows that have come and gone. Yes, I am aware I said there nothing to watch, but Prime time is between 8-11pm. Is that the only tv people have time to watch TV the answer is no.

The Laptop has become a gift and a curse for the entertainment business. I can speak for myself when I say since I have bought a laptop I dont go to the movie theaters, I dont buy music, I watch shows that I have missed the night before. Its way to easy to gain access anymore and I think thats why nobody is putting their all into things anymore. Its almost like why break my back to make an album and have it leak a month later, Or why make a sex tape with my Wife to only have it leak online. Yes, these are strategic moves done by stars, but because this non-sense is going on your laptop is the best thing for you to have in front of you. If you missed something jump on Twitter and and download the last 5 minuted of something you just missed cause you were to busy watching downloading Drake's album. I'm getting a bit on topic here but, the camera has become a cultural norm and I'm not talking about the Kodak's that you can buy at the dollar store I'm talking Digital SLR what on camera men that has training bought. Its almost like because nothing is worthy of watching on TV, going on your laptop, making a blog, taking pics and buying Photoshop has become the need to have things these days. I still blame the lack of TV, because the entire time I have been blogging my cousin has been playing video games for the past 5 hours and why is that such a big deal because there is nothing on TV he can say, "oh i need the TV, my show is coming on". Kids are fighting for the remote anymore because whats there to do but sleep, or jump on ur laptop to see if Chris Brown beat someone else up. I can say Em not the same way, but I went to school, before the movement, I buy my Cd's because I respect the artist creativity being an artist myself. So I have joined some of the trends and that really why I'm writing this because I have seen a slight change in myself. When I used to come home from work the sketchbook was the 1st thing I would pick up, but not I log onto my laptop check my e-mail, Facebook, and sidebar links. I have become the one thing I have tried not to be, but the difference is I see what I have become and can change it. I know sitting on my laptop doesn't make any sense. I draw for a living and have self-fulfillment when it come to me being able to create in a stable area. Anyway folks I'm off to watch the NBA Draft.

Sorry folks for the lack of daily posts, just been working alot and dealing with alot of family issues some good some bad, but thats life in a nutshell. We have to take the good with the bad to appreciate whats really important in life. Im going to leave you with this image to show you guys alittle of whats goin on in the world of Daily Antics and the brand.

I'm taking it back to when it was about the art work and not the design. I watched a video interview with a young entreprenur that said you have to make a connection with your audeince. There are thousands of people trying to do the same thing. You need to be able to find that connection and still make it fun. Thats the hard part being creative and making money from it or at least a living.

A Day In The Life...

Well I'm back from my hiatus, well not really its only been a day. There is so much that goes on in ones life just think of everyones life on earth. People being, people creating life in the pre-stages of pregnancy, some doing it for fun. Before this just becomes an on going rant about what people are doing in their lives I'm here to talk about whats going on in mine.

I decided to take some photos to look back at the 1st t-shirt I ever got printed...I don`t promote them anymore some they are basically a promo t-shirt of whats to come. The name has changed the, ideas and the entire concept has changed. Daily Antics is the new movement.

This is me brainstroming, yes I take a marker cause its more permanment and I come up with ideas, things that I have seen a long the way that I can manipulate and change. Old skecthbook ideas, the list goes on.

Whats are these you mind ask, well if you didnt I'm going to share the info with you anyway. These are samples of potential Daily Antics stickers. I have gone into this design mode, where I dont draw as much as I use to which is beginning to get to. Stickers? I haven't even come out with t-shirts and I'm moving on to stickers. Well the answer is yes. I have many friends that shall be nameless because of their ties with the law that play in the streets and when i mean play I mean paint in the street (graffiti). The idea has been brought up countless times and I thought I would make it a reality.

More ideas, more letters, more late night of the light bulb flashing on in my head just before I am ready to hit the sheets. I dont know if it only me, but I tend to pull out my best work when I am just about to go to sleep or I am pulling an all night for a half started project. I work best when my backs against the wall.

On to my favorite pass-time. Ending someones on dreams in a video game or 2. I never thought I would put down the controller. Every year I was ready to play Madden Football and pick my favorite team the eagles. Who have since traded McNabb star QB to their rivals the redskins, which to me is clearly disrespectful. Any who people Im off to do something with my life. You should do the same we will catch up later.

Oh man its Friday. Well I made it to another one. As many would like to sat TGIF. I haven't been blogging much for the simple fact the entrance of The Madbury Club has consumed my life. Yes, it might seem a little weird but in stead of blogging I'm have been posting comments on music, fashion, games, and our new subculture of blogging and photo taking. Not to mention the Editor & Chief: Phil has these dope layouts that makes me wanna , great content and a way of talking about things people are actually interested in blogging about.

Its been a while since I had made a post, but its has been because I have been slaving away at the computer with these designs and Daily Antics ideas. I was surfing through my usual websites and came across this Martha Cooper video: Name Tagging. Tagging has become a lost art. Its seems everyone wants to just throw up the pretty murals and production pieces. Yeah, big deal right? I have been a writer and support of graffiti for years and have realized tagging is like creeping before you walk. You have to form a letter style before you do throw-up or even a burner and then move on to something a lot more complex. Anyway peep the video I'm going to go and write my name:

Goodtimes with the Canon

Today was a day of new findings, book reading and random pictures to make you scratch your head.

Aimlessly walking and snapping picture with my new camera, cars rides to the book store to add more in-depth research to the collection and the up and coming line. I must say black and white photography has a way with me. Its just so vintage. I love color, but just think of a world that was black and white where color could be imagine and dreamed of. Yeah they have a movie and its happens to be one of my favorites. Pleasant Ville.

The pictures below is one of those hidden gems I was referring to on twitter. Its a local spot thats some friends and I heard about. I heard they sell patties and I hadn't one a patty in years, but the only difference is this patty came with lettuce and cheese. Yeah, I said ew!! in the beginning, but you cant knock it till you try it. This place sells pizzas, subs, and these patties. I don't usually blog about food, cause I feel like Maestro Knows has that done pat, but if your ever in the area check them out. I always down to support the locals especially when its food.

Well it was good, enjoy the summer folks as you can see I'm stuffing my face and working hard to bring the collection to your front door. Never be afraid to try something new, that how locals spots stay afloat. Go swimming or something folks.

So you tune into smurk.blogspot.com and you see me. Close up and wonder why pn God's green earth has this guy taken pictures of himself. The answer to the question is in the photos. My 8 year old cousin too these although I'm not a fan of close up what the hell I step outside and the world see me close up. Just the beginning stages of my interview process. Interview you ask? I plan to share with the world the inner cities talents from graffiti, music, fine art, dance etc. Anything creative I'm willing to document it because I love to see people follow their dreams. I could never see myself stopping my dreams, I have way too much passion and love for what I do to ever stop. I believe everyone has a creative side and this blog is on the verge of a facelift. New topics, new personalties, a completely new focus. Daily Antics is the name of my future t-shirt brand but the more and more I live out my lifetime dreams and try to reach the top which in mind is a life time goal. The Daily Antics also seems to be a lifestyle of sorts. So onward with antics.

Its funny you never realize when you get your ideas from and your artist side from, but my aunt has been raising me for most of my life. Neither one of my parents have the artistic itch, hustlers in their own right. Besides that my aunt has brought out my artistic side, by simply hating on me. The hate motivated me and made me want to prove to that I had talent in many ways.

Remembering The Good Times

As we get older we look back and remember the little silly things we did as children, or what was cool at the time. I was with my sister a few days ago talking about cartoons and TV shows like Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Growing up coloring was never my favorite pastime. Anything I drew that I had to color I disliked off the bad, it never came out the way I wanted it. 15 year later, a college diploma and a better knowledge of color scheme with a greater advancement of technology and here I am.

Taking my ideas and making it a reality. I have come a long way and I feel that I'm only getting better with time. There are a few things I have neglected in the past few months that I would like to bring back to fold. Nearly everything I do now has color and/or some type of color scheme to it. I still love black, white and gray but color just bring out so much emotion. The picture above is just another demonstration of what I planning for the future. Making sure today is better than yesterday. I can only imagine where I will be in another 2 years, but hopefully I can look at this post and remember how much I was doing to try and reach my goals. Well it's time I put this post to a close and enjoy the rest of the day before I have to hit the streets like Hits From The Streets. And I'm gone.

Its definitely weird sometimes when your in high school and you never know someone future ambitions. Its funny cause I know he was into school playing on his guitar for all the ladies. Its his 1st production if I am not mistake and to be its a banger. Shows off the Canadian flavor like he only knows how. Its a good look for music in Canada. Of course we have Justin Beiber. Drake. Sketck book Chronicles

It dawned on me that if I have a brand named Daily Antics it would only makes sense to update the blog daily. It also makes sense that if I am alive I am not just lying in bed. I am doing something with my life, always making moves. My goal in life is to make today 2 times better than the day before yesterday. Treat everyday like its your last. Sometimes that can be taken as a negative thing, because when u go to sleep you may not wake up? thats one hell of a thing to think about, but the only movement in life is forward. Time is too short to look back and dwell on the past. Anyway enough of that sentimental gar-gain. Here is what I have been working on:

Its been sometimes, but I have finally picked up the pen and turned on the music. I had just let the ideas flow like a cool summer breeze or the calm before the storm. Daily Antics is not just something something I keep talking about. It has almost become a way of life. Its is something I wake up and do everyday. A Few Words About the Canon

Felt it was only necessary to bring up the fact that I have a Canon on the way. No no not the canon's that were used when pirates used to conquer the seven seas. The canon that display visuals in masterful ways. I will finally get to show off my photography skills. Hell, I went to school for it. I refuse to waste all that hard earned tuition money and time spent messing with the exposure and shutter speed. I don't know but Twitter has done more for me in my life than any other social network I have ever joined. I have met countless people with the same interest and same passion I have. It cool that someone miles away or across the world can see you eye to eye. Before I get off topic. I purchased the Canon from up and coming brand co-owner Adam. We here there are I know most people don`t do this for the simple fact they're are afraid of other people bitting their style or their ideas. At the same time I dont give a damn because they use my ideas tell them to do it again you know. If you have to steal to be creative your just a creative thief, But anyway on to the designs. Ndeur Mathieu Graphic?

Its a small world we live in. During my college years I had an intership, my task was to find an artist to interview and almost live a day in the life of. I came acorss local artist Spazz(SPA22), but this blog post isnt about him. This post is about the guy about Ndeur. Ndeur? whats that you ask. I still havent got around to finding that out but he was one of the artist featured at Omy Gallery. Omy Gallery is a gallery for the locals and those that stand outside of the box. Ndeur happens to stand outside. checkout some of his work:

Known for his design on shoes. I saw these shoes in the gallery and nearly wanted to start collecting them for the colour and design content. Its always good to see orignal work that hasnt been done or hasnt been done with such mastery. Ndeur has a nose for design like no other I have seen, not sure where he get his inspiration form, but whatever that is I would love to get some.

As you can see. Ndeur also has love for the pencil and the more I surf the web and see other peoples passion for creativity and design. Everyone Forgot about West..

Its 5am and I'm blogging either something is wrong with me or I cant sleep, so I stated to watch Robin Hood and blog because I feel like I haven't been blogging at a pace I am quite pleased with. By onward to the post. I was going through some old images and came across a digital re-sample I had done a while back of Kayne West and it dawned on me that everyone for got about Kanye, At one point you couldnt turn on your tv without hearing a Kanye production or someinthg he had done or said on TV. I have a twitter account: @Smurkonedesign and I cant recall the last Kanye reference or a #nowplaying trending topic. Ill get into more detail about those in another post, but have we forgotten "All falls down", Jesus walks, Gold Digger? If we were in the 90's Kanye West album would still be bumpin, but music changes from days to day, I only fell it would be nessecary to leave this post and give you some of what you have all forgotten about.

How can you really forget about the masterful videos and albums he has put together. The albums he has produced and co-written, At one point they forgot about Dre, but I guess every great producers has to be forgotten to eventually be remembered. Anyway listen to what he has done and get ready for good as job I am sure its going to be a hit record.

I usually do not talk about other people living out their lives because Im busy living out mine, but I turn on my laptop today as I usually do after a long night of work. Overnight I will tell you is not place for an artist like myself but its the path to greatness you must look at. Always moving forward, but back to the topic at hand. I was surfing the net and came across hypebeast my daily intake of what new and fresh in the world. I just so happened to stumble upon this:

Sometimes I surfing the net and ask myself, why should I care about your blog? Why should I take time out of my day to see what you have to talk about? Im sure I am not the only one with these kinds of thoughts, but to me a blog should be personal. Its seems in this new era of technology blogging, design, branding has become more of a fad than a lifestyle. For examply Soulja Boy jumped on Youtube and became an overnight star. I not hating but its funny to see how pushing mixtape outside of car became a full out dance. Music has changed and hiphop isnt dead it has just evolved in many ways, just like is has from the early 80's to the mid 90's. Anyway instead of me ranting and raving about how the world has changed and why it will continue to change, back to the real reason I for this post today.

I feel like just like the music I love it is evolving, whether its good or bad thats up to the masses to decide and if you have seen the most recent images. Daily Antics have been a main focal point. Why? yes thata good question and the answer is because thats the brand name thats the lifestyle, thats me. Waking up every day and pushing, pushing the envelope, never being afraid to say whats on my mind. Never following trends, but counter acting them. Never been the kid to buy jordan when everyone was rocking them, but would buy the, years later because deadstocks are so much better. But on another note Daily Antics is something that has been years in the making and Im not quite done yet this has always been something I have been itching to unleash. So when you see an image with "daily antics" doesnt means its a t-shirt design just means that was my thought process with that image. So this summer hopefully will be a hot one because this brand it definitly going to make some headway. And ultimatle this is why you should see my blog for update because Im bringing it you r neck!!! Not for to copy and paste like 75% of bloggers or wanna be bloggers today. I keep it real and close to the vest. Its time to go creat more destruction for the opposition. Creativity is the movtivation. On to to the next one.

Its been a long time coming and I think its time I changed my entire interface. I finally have a name for my clothing brand and its time I made them into one entire website. Will be talking to some of my twitter contacts about web page design. Its something I have been working on for years and its it definitely a project I look to stick with for a ling time.

I came up with this Gandhi image after listening to some John Mayer. Its to spread love around the world to your brother and sisters. Colour should never play a factor when it comes to mankind and humanity. I think this has been one of the most mature posts I have ever done. The Fresh Stock?

Last night I went into work and found people wearing my t-shirt. The overwhelming feeling that joy that consumed me was as if I had just got the birthday gift I had asked my parents for. What I rush and more people keep asking about the t-shirt and when will there be more and all i can tell them is more greatness to come. That being said the other day I felt I had not surf the web in a while, work had me strung out. No Im not a dealer, but a manager for a multi-million dollar company.

Anyway I came across @TheFreshStock a website based around premiere street wear, and up and coming brands. Since I felt in a few months I will be making moves, I thought to my it would be a good idea to check them out. I came across many brands, the good, the bad and the ugly. When I say ugly I dont mean it disrespectfully because I understand everyone is grinding and I respect that, just some of the design I would put on paper, but I love the hussle. I got my printer I have wanted for about a year now. New canvas to fill with stickers, my laptop is full of stickers from Beautiful Decay, Hockey Teams, 123 Klan, West 49 and many more. some of these images might be older image but definetly gems in their own right. Sometimes you gotta go back to know where your going. I completely feel that way when it comes to my art work and where its goin today. I kinda feel like Neo from the Marix lookin for something, but cant seem to find it. This post isnt to say that I have found what I am lookin for but I am getting closer as the days go by.

I dont know why I left the sketckbook, but I keep telling myself time and time again that its time to go back, its time to go back to my roots. Haven picked up a pencil in some time for the sheer fact that I have been using my wacom tablet pen. They ideas have been coming in but not a pace I would like. Today is my birthday so I wont be spend my day on the Laptop. Just here to show ya'll what I have been working on lately and where I plan on going.

I felt all my posts have just been about my art work, but at the same time that what I do, that what I live and breath, but at the same time music has played a big part of my life and I can still remember when I started listening to hiphop and actually repeating verses line for line. The main person I have followed like many other has been the one and only Jay-Z. Today I wanted to throw out the debate what Jay-Z Album holds true to real hip-hop? I have based my own opinions and I feel just because your a fan doesnt mean you have to love everything someone does. I still feel Illmatic is a better album than Reasonable Doubt, but I still love both albums. For me I caught between 3 albums:

These albuns still to this day get heavy rotation form me, just of the strength of lyrical content, I feel like these albums best depict a sign of the times. I feel like when I listen to Reasonable Doubt was a time where the 90's was dealing with the cold war with Russia and everyone believe the government had their hands dipped in everything. (they still do) The Blue Print hands down was next to Reasonable was Hova's biggest album for the mear fact he was beefin with Nas. I wont say the beef was won, but it definetly helped the success of the album and Hard Knock Life was an epic album. Last but not least Black Album was his 1st retirement and it was an star studded album how could you go wrong, every track has the potential to be a hot single as almost seem like it was. I caught between a rock and a hard place. It hard to narrow it down to one album because Im a fan. I can take something from every album and have reasons why I love them. Deep down I know which album I love the most, but its your turn....

The World's Not Black And White: Play With Colours

I must say the years have just being flying by, my birthday is in less than a week and it feels like yesterday I was turning 16. With age comes growth, experience, and in many cases wisdom. I cant say Im wiser than I was a year ago but I have got through many different experience. The one remaining factor has been my art work, and I must say these days I am actually proud of myself. Its been a while since I could actually say that, but it doesnt stop. The only movement is forward and that where I plan to go. Besides me playing in colour with these digital programs I oull out the sketchbook every now and again mess with real paint form time to time. The say when your a "Jack of all trades your a master of none" I look to change that, because I feel you can never master something, because any artist that thinks they have master creativity is lying to you. Money cant be my motivation, if it was all about the money I would have been done quite some time ago. Anyway Im done ranting about my passions. Check out what I have been working on:

Have not posted some of my own work in a while and that bothers me sometimes. I feel like I have this talent but sometimes just too lazy or busy to use it. Then there are times where I lose sleep because I have to be creative. I have another digital piece Im dropping real soon think T-shirt design. I titled this Champion vs. Champion for the simple fact that the a debate broke out about who would win Ali or Iron Mike? In light of the new ongoing decision I would let the people decide. I think Ali would win because he fought against some of the hardest hitters of all-time although Tyson was a ruthless fighter he didnt use his head. Ali played with his opposition, while still having knockout accabilities. But its your turn, you let me know who would win Ali or Tyson? "Let get ready to Rumble"

It's just one those questions where your mind runs wild and your opinion and bias play a large part. Its like asking if Lebron can surpass Jordan's fame? Is Lebron the next Jordan? so many question so many answers stay posted for more.

Its funny when you seem some that inspires you or something you like you tend to cling to them in away. Not like a stocker, but more like a fan. I 1st came across Kofie from the documentary Rock Fresh, which basically interviewed a seires of about taking street art and making it a business of taking the art form learned on the street and converting it into something people can understand. Today this short video is from the creator of "The Qualities Of Life" and Kofie just lets go and lets people in. He tell the world about his inspirations and what makes him do what he does and why he does it. I find Kofie an inspiration for the fact that hes a free spirit doesnt have a strict mind set when its comes to his art, he wants to try new things and push himself in a creative manner.

I been a while since I posted something that I have done the last thing was the Muhammad Ali graphic, but you cant think that I just given up keeping busy. Always working hard and trying to use my time wisely while still getting a movie in the mix. I came across this video of the boys from "HVW8". I used to always see their work but never knew who they were. UpperPlayground dropped another "Run Up" video where they have interview, but whats didnt with this one is that HVW8 is 3 guys and they said 2 heads are better than one. Today was a good day definetly a good track from the one and only Ice Cube. Randomly my sister rarely listeing to hiphop and absolutely loves that song. Other than art music is definetly a something I take time to listen to. for the mear fact of the creation behind it. The beat, the lyrical, the content is just something that take over in my head and I zone out. I love listen to good music and doin some art work. Its an unconsciene feeling. Today I came across the La group Pac Div (Pacific Division) if you havent heard of them go out and buy a laptop with wifi so u can bum off some and look them up. Its been a while since I drop one of these, had a bit of a lifestyle change in recent months. I move to the night shift because at work that is said to be a promotion so now I live like Edward from Twilight, up at night and behind closed doors. The doors are closed for the mear fact that Im tired I just finished busting my tail at work and everyone at home has just got their 8hrs. Which somes times i hate having to come into. Haha twitter has connected me to many different personalities, but this connection was made throught a mutal friend and a very small world. Matt Adams is this name and Pardon Le Dopeness is his clothing company. Like the Cope brand I have never actually met Matt but we share the same backyard. Toronto where I was bore and raised. (I was about to get into the Fresh Prince intro)

I got a package in the mail today, My grandfather told me to stop buying all this crap!! I told him it wasnt crap, this is Le dopeness!! He said whatever and went downstairs. The crewneck in the middle I wore to work definetly had people turning their heads and acting about the sweater. That what I look for clothing makes peopel think or even have a response. Its been a while since I hot rock bottom. I was looking at previous blog posts and had come to the realization that not enough of myself was being talked about. Yea its all good and fun when you see someone else doing something cool or trying to make it, but I feel its my turn.

I feel like I have to go back to my roots, graffitiwas the probably the soul reason I continue to draw and sketch today. Dont get me wrong I loeve artwork and all that comes with it. I just feel somewhere along the line I lost that or misplaced all that I felt was true, but now its time I feel that I gotta go back to my roots, back the foundation, the pen, pad, markers and paint with a clean twist of design on the side. Look of out more design because I have too many ideas to share with the world to let them just past me by.

Theatrical Experience: Repo Man

Everyday we wake up wondering whats new in the world today and how much different will it be from yesterday. New births, deaths, born days, this list goes on. My life is one that is out of funk due to the simple fact I work during the might when a large majority of the world works in the day. It definetly sucks that I am a manager at my job, but hey if your good at some progression is the only way out. Lucky me tonight I had the night off and my sister decided to get Repo Man in bootleg.

A futuristic movie featuring Jude Law and Last King Of Scottland Forest Whitaker. I have found that in recent months the alarming rate of future movies, and this is a good watch for me anyway. I like different movie and this one of a kind. These Repo Men dint jus t take wolrdly possessions like furniture, cars, houses or think like that, but they are goin after your organs, yes I said your organs I dont want to him too much away but thats what these men are after. Its definetly seem a bit gory. but overall a good movie. I guess it doesnt hurt that it was filmed in |Toronto. I didnt want to distract the post with metioning the cameo from The Rza...

Today like any other day I felt sleep was being underrated, for the clear fact that when I am in dream land the members of my family find it nessesary to walk in and out of my room like a busy NY street. This only leads me to get my ignorant shit on and start yelling at memeber of the family. Anyway with alot of sleep and a passion for art is dawn on me I still dont have my tattoo and the more I think about it the more I want it, the more I want to pull myself away from the normal way of life and branching out. The days I wake up and realize I am still young and hate what I do, a really begining to catch up to me.

Art work is definetly a passion of mind, its been instilled in my membrain since the day my mind was able to figure out how to use an object rather than putting it in my mouth. I have drawn any things for people and for myself. I dont think I could ever let the pencil down, but as these night begin to catch up to me the funk seems to be dying. Its only happen once when I was not drawing and all my frustration were let go on to the people closes to me. These days my state of mind ismt about the artwork, it has more to do with get the day over with. It has come to a point when real life has caught up to me and the life I want to love have clashed and reality looks to be settling. No this is not get giving up this is me realizing that the life Im living now needs to be changed and soon before I end up with children a mortgage and fall into the normals struggles of a married man that hates his job. Definetly one of my shorter blogs I will say, but it was more of a rant for me to get off my chest since being on nights it seems like the computer and the rest of the world are my friends, funny part about that it 90% of the people I have spoken to I have never seen in real life.

Anyways, on to the next one. The days between blogs these will few and far between. Expect more dope shit to becoming your way, stilll looking for an offical name for the clothes but that doesnt mean that artistic expression has to stop so get ready for it. The old wrist are starting to develop rust.

Today among other days I woke up with this awful taste of un-brushed teeth, but I think that's everyone who own a pair of top and down teeth. I have a triple stack of hamburger with frings. (onion rings & fries) Had a epic battle of basketball playground. I must say I am out of shape and the more I think about it winter seems to longer. I came in from losing in 21 and jumped on the computer to see what the rest of the world had been up to. This is what i came across this:

Sketchbook artwork from Only Ny. I love to see the creative side of other artist, the rough process where the ideas and inspiration comes from. Ive got about 7 sketchbooks that I actually like and pull out every now and again to see where I am now and where I'm going. For me its like when NBA players watch each other play and admire the skills displayed on the court like when Lebron talks about Kobe.

This wasnt the only thing I cam across as I usually do these days I check out The Award Tour. I came across his rough works and the process he carrys when he is in his Dungeon as he calls it.

I dont know what it is, but I feel as if creativity has to be spread throughout the world. I love to show off my rough work and then the finally product because it another way of showing the authenticity of the work and how its being made. I wouldnt say I search for it but it I come across it, I bound to dig deeper and see the process that he or she displays. I dont discriminate I am a fan of people that come from the same country I do its not always about America, some dope work come from up north. The phenom "Smolik". Coming across new work preferable dry mediums, get me pumped and makes me wanna push more and more. I wanna do more because to me if I'm not doing it someone else is. So I use it as motivation and a way of see whats good out there. Its all about sharing I was never one to share my work which I think made me more creative, but now I second guest what to put up and what not to put up, but its all good cant stip wont stop.

These days its seems like my art has taken a backseat to the illustration based work I use to deal with and if more design based. Im not sure why I kinda just go with the flow but at the same time I think I have to go back to the good ol'days, the glory days and bring back those creative juices. March 9th Day in the Life..

Another day another struggle. Today will be one of those days that everyone under the son pays their respects to Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls for the children born in the mid-90s who may not of heard of him. Haha! Pretty dope that I am blogging from my blackberry. Technology has come along way, although my network is being a little difficult all the same being on my phone and blogging about today I have to say is pretty dope. Have not figured of the machanics of putting new photos up but I believe its about progression. Been in the lab(my bed room) a lot lately other than for means of sleep and just veggin' out. I have been working on some new designs for the t-shirt the brand and everything that comes with it. I will say that brainstorming on your own can have it sturggle but nobody has been on a hussle and failed horrible unless it was drug related. I have come along way when it comes to be an artist the have been times I have just wanted to give up, but I have realized that this is me. This is who I am I love art and everything that comes with it, the process, the composition, the rendering the whole 9. I think I'm going to be one of those 35 year old men that have a full-time job and draw on the side. You ever wake up and wonder what have I dont in my life, what have I accomplished. I think to myself in the 20 plus years of life. I have come across many people, many different persnalities and when I come to think to myself I am my own worst critic. Im having fun with my computer, listening to music and I love basketball its clear that I love artwork ecspecially my own. I dont mean to toot my own horn but Im a damn good artist. its been a long time coming, but I am not finished I feel life is about progression and so is art..I love many different forms of art. Music has played a big role in my life, and is the main reason I still make art today other than my passion and mear love of it all.

As you can all see I have taken a liking to the digital realm of things, but its time to go back to my roots and deal with the fundamentals of life. The pencil is the foundation of my entire existance as an artist, it feels like since I could remember. My mom has always be academically forward, I was never really having all that. Always wanted to create and way to stubborn to have anyone tell me diffferent. Its what has kept me going...

The Mixtap Champ: For Promotional Use Only

Its that time again where I talk about something Ive had on my mind and for a while. I have no idea what the shower does to people, but I like this think it bring comfort almost like when a baby is in the belly of their carrier. I say that like it Fed-ex, but Im not that shallow. On to the topic at hand before I go off tilt and start talking about complete nonsense. Mixtapes, yes the infamous mixtape that has before a cheaper version of an album. It has almost become a norm for an artist to drop a mixtape with new material these days, when maybe 10 years ago the mixtape was for promo. As you may know the mixtape use to be about taking someone else beat and throwing your own verse on it. It help when it came to the streets, because some mixtape tracks were better than the original. The image to the right is from Kochece Lloyd Banks vs. Cassidy, although they never meet the mixtape was dope because the tracks were together as if they were battle each other (I think Banks killed it).

The Mixtape to the left was a promo release to the "Kiss of Death" album. This was also a dope album, but other than the Kochece mixtape this mixtape was more on the side of being an actual street album. It has some old school beats, tight new rhymes and some new material that would be on the upcoming album. I have come to love mixtape as they are now downloadable via the internet and $5 at the corner bodega. (we dont have those in Canada but you catch my drift)

Mixtapes in 2010 are album and yes, any album made is for promotional use. Curresny, Wiz Khalifa and J.cole all doipe in their own right and have made names for themselves mearly off their mixtapes. It almost seems like the next step foe mixtape is to start selling them in your local music store alongside the offical album. Exposure is everything and the more you have the more people talk, which is only good for the artist that trying to make it.

Need I say more about the album of 2009. Yes! Once a mixtape which had more hype than Wale. No disrespect to Wale but Drake smashed it last year, then me made it an offical album. This maybe the new turn for mixtape, making them offical because if all the songs are original, then why not. Make it offical and see where it take you. Im glad to say he Canadian, but thats a side now. Drake is the defintion of hussle. I once saw him at the movie theatre in my hometown and now he at the all-star game with my favorite ball player. It all started with this Replacement Girl. and moved to Best I Ever Had. Now someone can not think about Canada without thinking about Drake unless your talking about the Olympics and Hockey. He has come along way and it`s been because of the mixtape

Thats my short, rant about mixtapes and where thet are going. I had alot more but everyoe from twitter decided to tweet the scores of the hockey game and now Im a completely distratced thanks twitter. Let go Canada....This year is our year...
